Rohit Sharma and Shkhar Dhwan two former Indian teammates had a light moment on the field before the toss at the Mullanpur stadium. The two teams are playing a very important match tonight.

PBKS and MI are placed eighth and ninth heading into this game. Both teams are in desperate need of points heading into this game. Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to field first.

Meanwhile, Rohit and Shikhar meeting up before the game was one of the moments of the match already. While Rohit is playing his 250th IPL match tonight, Shikhar is missing yet another game this season as he is struggling with a shoulder niggle. Sam Curran at the toss informed about Dhawan missing the match.

"We will have a bowl. Keeping up with the trend of the tournament. Shikhar is not well, so that's the only injury and Rilee comes in for Jonny today. It is not nice to lose the close games but we are doing a lot of things right. Taide drops out of the side, just a couple of tactical changes" said Curran.

Yet again there was a lot of talk from Hardik Pandya at the toss. He said that the team is looking to take game by game at the toss after the loss to CSK in their previous match.

"We were wanting to bat first as well, so good toss to lose. We don't judge (our performances), couple of times we had the game in our grasp and didn't finish the game, IPL tests you, when the game is not over it is not over. We just take it game by game, go out there and give our 100 percent. Every individual should commit to the team's goal and once we do that, the results will be seen. Same team" said Hardik.

Hardik himself has not had an impact with bat or ball so far in this season's IPL. He has just scored 131 runs with the bat and just three wickets with the ball from six games. Despite his poor returns so far, the all-rounder had managed to find a spot in India's probable T20 World Cup squad.

Hardik was out with an ankle injury and is now playing the IPL with no international or domestic cricket experience in between. He not playing domestic cricket has been looked at with heavy criticism by former Indian cricket experts. He has managed to find a grade A category contract despite not being a part of the team for a length of time and not playing enough cricket as well.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma recently opposed the Impact Player Rule In the recent Club Prairie Fire Podcast talking to Adam Gilchrist and Michael Vaughan. He gave different explanations to say that it diminishes the role of an all-rounder in the side.
