PBKS vs MI: Watch - Sam Curran rushes to check on Rohit Sharma after latter suffers brutal blow

Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Rohit Sharma had a decent outing with the bat in the ongoing game against Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The game between the two teams is taking place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh. 

Rohit Sharma, who slammed a brutal ton in the last game, made sure that he continued his form with the bat and gave his team another brutal start with the bat. He played some crisp shots in his innings and made sure that he yet again oozed his class with the bat. 

Rohit Sharma during his innings was hit on the helmet as well. It happened during the third ball of the 12th over. Sam Curran bowled a slower ball to which the batter wanted to play the paddle backwards of square. He got a top edge and the ball ricocheted onto the helmet. 

However, what caught the attention of many was Sam Curran's reaction after that. The Punjab Kings skipper came to Rohit Sharma and checked on him. The Mumbai Indians batter acknowledged the gesture as the duo had a great moment together. The video of the incident went viral on the internet.

Rohit Sharma after facing that blow fell on the very next ball. Sam Curran bowled a slower delivery and angled it across. The batter ran down the track to hit it out of the park. He reached for the drive and sliced it to backward point, where Harpreet Brar took a good low catch.  

Rohit Sharma played a vital innings with the bat. He ended with a total of 36 runs off 25 balls. The opening batter batted with a strike rate of 144 and also hit 2 fours and 3 sixes in his innings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh. 

Rohit Sharma added 81 runs with Suryakumar Yadav and made sure that Mumbai Indians go past the 100-run mark quickly. The duo batted sensationally well after the wicket of Ishan Kishan, who perished for just 8 runs against Kagiso Rabada.

After Rohit Sharma got out, Suryakumar Yadav played a sensational innings with the bat. The batter racked up his second half-century of the season and ended with an innings of 78 runs off 53 balls. He also slammed 7 fours and 3 sixes in his innings, batting with a strike rate of around 195. 

Skipper Hardik Pandya (10) yet again failed to set the stage on fire as he perished after the start. However, on the other hand, Tilak Varma (34*)  and Tim David (14) brought out their brutal best with the bat and made sure that Mumbai Indians ended with a gigantic total of 192 runs on board.

For Punjab Kings, skipper Sam Curran and Harshal Patel were the pick of the bowlers. While Patel returned with figures of 3/31, Curran bagged figures of 2/41 in his 4 overs. Apart from him, Kagiso Rabada picked one wicket.
