Mumbai Indians (MI) keeper-batter Ishan Kishan produced a magnificent effort with the gloves in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Punjab Kings (PBKS). The 33rd game of the tournament between the teams is taking place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

Mumbai Indians have started their innings with the ball on high, thanks to the brilliance of Ishan Kishan behind the stumps. The incident took place in the first over of the second innings. Gerald Coetzee bowled quite an eventful first over, which also produced a wicket as well.

On the third ball of the over, Gerald Coetzee bowled a short delivery that was down the leg side. Prabhsimran Singh tried to help it on its way with the pull. The ball, however, caught the faint inside edge and it seemed that the ball would land safely.

But Ishan Kishan pulled a tremendous catch behind the stumps. He put in a full-length dive and held on to a sharp catch. The whole crowd at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh went berserk with the effort.

Here's the video:

Prabhsimran Singh bagged a golden duck with the bat as Mumbai Indians picked their first wicket with the ball. They needed an early wicket and Gelard Coetzee did exactly that. Although he was taken for some runs, but he made sure that he brought his team back into the game.

After his over, Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc across the Punjab Kings' batting lineup. He produced a deadly yorker to remove Rilee Rossouw. The pacer bowled a full delivery that swung back in late. The batter's feet were cemented to the crease as the ball went on to crash the off-stump.

After that Jasprit Bumrah made sure that he chips in with another wicket. The fast bowler removed Sam Curran. He bowled a fuller-length delivery that was slipping down the leg. Sam Curran tried to flick to and got the edge, which was caught by the keeper Ishan Kishan with ease.

Sam Curran scored 6 runs off 7 balls and couldn't get going at all. His move to open the innings didn't pay off as he went back early in the hut. The all-rounder was livid with the way he got out and walked off frustrated at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.

Gerald Coetzee sends Liam Livingstone packing as well for 1

After that, Gerald Coetzee made sure that he chipped in yet again with the ball. He picked his second wicket of the day as he removed Liam Livingstone for just 1 run. The pacer bowled a short delivery just outside off.

Liam Livingstone was undone by Gerald Coetzee's pace. He was very late on the pull. The ball hit him on the bat and lobbed back at the bowler. Coetzee came in sliding forward and completed a simple catch.

After that Shreyas Gopal removed Harpreet Bhatia as well. Punjab Kings was left tottering at 49/5. Mumbai Indians now look favourites to win the game. If they manage to win at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, it will be their third win.
