Mohsin Naqvi confirms Pakistan Women to play ICC Women's World Cup 2025 matches at neutral venue
Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that the Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team won’t be traveling to India for the Women’s ODI World Cup later this year. The PCB boss noted that the team will play their matches at a neutral venue, just like India played the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai under the hybrid model.
Naqvi mentioned that it will be up to India and the ICC to decide the neutral venue for Pakistan’s matches in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. Earlier this year, when Pakistan hosted the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, India didn’t travel to Pakistan due to political tensions. Instead, they played their matches in Dubai. Now, the same model will be followed for the women’s team.
Mohsin Naqvi was quoted as saying by PTI, “Just like India didn't play in Pakistan in the Champions Trophy and were allowed to play at a neutral venue, whatever venue is decided, we will play [there]. When there is an agreement, it has to be adhered to.”

PCB to announce special reward for women's team soon
Naqvi was also happy with the Pakistan team’s progress and mentioned that the PCB will soon announce a special reward for the women’s team for playing brilliantly in the qualifiers.
The PCB chief signed off by saying, “The team showed how to take home advantage and play like a collective unit. I am happy that women's cricket is doing well now.”
As per the hybrid model agreed earlier by the BCCI and PCB, if India or Pakistan hosts an ICC event till 2027, both teams will play their matches at neutral venues.
This rule will also be followed for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, which will be held in India from September 29 to October 26. Australia will enter the tournament as the defending champions in India.
