Saim Ayub's participation in the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is in doubt as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to provide him with the No Objection Certificate (NOC). Without an NOC, he will not be able to play in the overseas franchise league.
Pakistan National Cricket Team all-rounder Saim Ayub is contracted by the Jamaica Kingsmen in this year's CPL. The tournament has already started, and the Pakistan all-rounder is yet to get clearance from the cricket board.

Jamaica Kingsmen have begun their CPL 2026 season
In the first match of CPL 2026, Jamaica Kingsmen were against the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons on August 7. Jamaica started their campaign on a negative note with a 2-wicket defeat, without Ayub in their side. Rovman Powell and Reeza Hendricks did well with their batting works but Alzarri Joseph's 3-wicket spell proved decisive in the end.
For the ongoing season, Jamaica Kingsmen have confirmed five Pakistanis, including Hassan Khan, Hunain Shah, Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, and Maaz Sadaqat. Among these five Pakistani cricketers, only Hassan and Hunain were available for the opening match of the season, while the other three players were not available for selection.
Jamaica Kingsmen are likely to consider changes in playing combination
It was previously reported that Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, and Maaz Sadaqat would not be available for the first five matches of the CPL 2026 season. In their absence, Reeza Hendricks, Tayyab Arif, and Shayan Jahangir would fill the voids in brief stints. Reeza played well against Antigua & Barbuda Falcons last night, scoring 42 off 25 as an opener.
"We struggled in the middle overs to build that pressure that we needed to. You know, in hindsight, maybe a few little plans could have been better. But having said that, I think we did well," Jamaica Kingsmen captain Rovman Powell said after the match, hinting at some possible changes in the upcoming matches.
PCB is yet to provide Saim Ayub with the NOC
Before featuring for the franchise, the Pakistani players, who are yet to play for Jamaica Kingsmen, will have to join the team for preparations before playing a match for them. If the reports are to be believed, then Saim Ayub is yet to get the much-needed NOC to join the team.
In the Pakistan Super League 2026, Ayub played for the Hyderabad Kingsmen. He batted for them in 13 innings and scored 258 runs for an average of 21.50, supported by only one half-century. The sole half-century he scored was against the Peshawar Zalmi in the final of the tournament in Lahore.
With the ball, the 24-year-old claimed 6 wickets for an economy rate of 8.27. It was Hyderabad Kingsmen's debut season in the Pakistan Super League, and they ended their debut campaign by reaching the final. Saim Ayub played a pivotal role in their significant run in the title race. There is no wonder why the franchise keeps its trust in the Pakistani all-rounder for the campaign in CPL 2026 as well.
