PCB set to take action against BCCI as India unlikely to travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025

After the enthralling T20 World 2024, the focus now moves towards the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament will be taking place in Pakistan in February-March next year and the biggest question remains the participation of the Indian team in the tournament.
As per the latest reports in Sports Tak, it is learned that the India National Cricket Team is unlikely to travel to Pakistan next year to take part in the 2025 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy. Their participation in the tournament will depend on the call taken by the Indian government.
The reason behind India not traveling to Pakistan is due to the political tensions between the nations. The two teams don't play each other in the bilateral series because the same and are only up against each other in the ICC events and the Asia Cups. The last time they played the series was in 2012-13.
A source close to Sports Tak revealed that the Pakistan Cricket Board will be raising the issue of India not traveling for the Champions Trophy in the meeting, slated to take place in Sri Lanka. The source stated that everything will depend on the government’s decision and details of the same will be revealed the d after the ICC meeting. He elaborated:
"While the details of the tournament have not yet been discussed, it is highly unlikely that the Indian team will travel to Pakistan. Ultimately, the decision rests with the Indian government. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) plans to raise this issue at the upcoming ICC meeting in Sri Lanka this month,”
"The government’s decision on this matter will be final, as we have not yet confirmed it internally. Since this is an ICC event, we do not have the authority to make any unilateral decisions. However, more details may emerge during the next ICC meeting."
India hasn't traveled to Pakistan since 2008. They were supposed to play the Asia Cup in 2023 but they didn't travel and the tournament was played in a hybrid model. India played games in Sri Lanka. But after that, at Pakistan made a positive despite India refusing to travel.
Pakistan traveled to India for the ICC World Cup 2023. They played matches in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata and received a great reception from the fans all across the venues that they played in India.
Pakistan Cricket Board releases draft schedule for the Champions Trophy
Recently Pakistan Cricket Board released the draft schedule for the Champions Trophy 2025. According to that Lahore will be hosting seven matches, five games will be played in Rawalpindi, and three reportedly are slated to take place in Karachi. It also suggested that India will play all their games in Lahore.
The reports also mentioned that India vs Pakistan will be taking place at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on March 1. With almost all the planning done for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, it remains to be seen if India will travel to Pakistan or not.
