It’s been close to three years since Virat Kohli scored an international hundred. But Virat’s conversion rate was amongst the best when he scored 70 international hundreds. In 11 years Virat scored 70 international hundreds. 27 hundred came in a format in which, experts at the beginning of his career thought Virat will struggle to score runs.

Having made his Test cricket debut in 2011 in the West Indies, Virat’s issues with the short pitch bowling were evident. That also gave his critics at that time a point to say that Virat Kohli doesn’t belong in a white jersey.

Regardless of that, in less than a year’s time when the Indian team was struggling in Australia, Virat Kohli scored 70 odd runs at Perth and in Adelaide, in the last Test match of the 2011-12 series, he scored his first Test century.

Virat has had his blips in Test cricket after that, the most famous being the 2014 England tour, but Virat Kohli made a strong comeback in Australia later that year where he registered 4 hundred in the series.

Kohli hasn’t been in bad form in ODIs ever, until the last couple of years. His average has been close to 60 and his strike rate close to 92, but in the last two years, he has seen the worst time in ODIs. The same applies to T20 cricket. It’s only in the last couple of years that Virat’s form in the shortest format has eluded him.
