England star Phil Salt has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at a base price of INR 2 crore. A wicketkeeper and an explosive opener, Salt plied his trade for reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders in the last season.

His career in the IPL began in 2023 when he was signed up by Delhi Capitals. In his first IPL season, Salt scored 218 runs at a strike rate of more than 160. Even though the right-handed batsman did well in his debut IPL season, Delhi Capitals decided to release him.

In the IPL 2024 auction, he surprisingly went unsold. Later, Kolkata Knight Riders signed him up as a replacement for Jason Roy. Salt went on to justify the decision by delivering a starring performance with the bat.

In 12 games for the Kolkata-based outfit in IPL 2024, Salt smashed 435 runs with the help of four half-centuries.
