Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled Team India’s historic victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 while addressing the Indian community in Moscow on Tuesday, June 9, during his two-day visit to Russia. Notably, PM Modi met the Indian players personally to congratulate them on their historic win.

Reflecting on the jubilant celebrations across India following the Indian cricket team's historic T20 World Cup 2024 triumph, PM Modi said that it was the resilience, spirit, and determination that led to this historic achievement. He praised the youngsters for not giving up until the last moment.

As reported by India Today, PM Modi said in Moscow: “You all must have celebrated India's T20 World Cup victory. Did you? Or did you not? Were you all proud or not? There is a real story and a road towards the World Cup triumph. Today's youth and the youth of India do not give up till the last ball and last moment. The victory kisses those feet who are not ready to give up. The feeling is not just limited to cricket but is also evident in other sports.”

Meanwhile, PM Modi was also confident that India will do well at the upcoming Paris Olympics, starting July 26. He added, “The Indian athletes have produced historic performances at the international level. This time in the Paris Olympics as well, a great team is going who will represent India. It will be great to watch how the entire team from different ethnicities will produce stellar performances. The self-belief of the young India is the real treasure of the country.”

Notably, South Africa was in a good position until the final over in the T20 World Cup 2024 final, but Hardik Pandya bowled brilliantly to pull off a seven-run win for the Men in Blue, ending their more than decade-long wait on June 29 in Barbados.
