A man standing next to Naqvi made objectionable comments about India while praising Naqvi’s handling of the trophy incident. He stated that Naqvi remained patient on the field when the Indian team initially refused to take the trophy.

The Sindh Governor stated that India underestimated Mohsin Naqvi. He claimed Naqvi allegedly handled the Indian team “like terrorists,” taking the Asia Cup trophy away in a car, and added that now “the whole of India is chasing the trophy.”

Earlier, the BCCI had written to the ACC requesting that Naqvi release the trophy, but Pakistan’s Interior Minister insisted that India could claim it only if a senior official traveled to Dubai to receive it personally.
