Young Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Rachin Ravindra recently shared his experience of playing alongside legendary cricketer MS Dhoni in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Rachin Ravindra highlighted the immense value of MS Dhoni's wisdom both on and off the field.
Rachin Ravindra made his IPL debut with the Chennai Super Kings. The young cricketer had the opportunity to share the dressing room with Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Ravindra cherished his time in the IPL as a memorable experience, despite the Super Kings not making it to the playoffs this season.
The New Zealand cricketer was picked up by the five-time IPL champion for Rs 1.8 crore in last year's mini-auction. The left-handed batter got a chance to play in the absence of injured Devon Conway. He scored 222 in 10 matches at an impressive strike rate of 160.87, with the best score being 61 runs.
It's A Pretty Special Feeling - Rachin Ravindra
In a viral video, Rachin Ravindra opened up about his feelings about playing alongside MS Dhoni in the IPL. He described it as a special experience and emphasized that Dhoni's wisdom on and off the field was extremely valuable.
"Yeah, it's a pretty special feeling. I think a guy who's achieved so much, to be able to share a field with him, not just on the field but the wisdom he gives us off it, is extremely valuable," Ravindra said.
Ravindra was born to Indian parents who migrated to New Zealand from Bangalore in the 1990s. When informed that the most common question about him on Google is whether he's Indian, Ravindra expressed surprise and admitted that he doesn't usually search for himself online.
"I actually didn't know that. Funnily enough, I don't really Google myself often. But, yeah, I guess, I'm Indian heritage but I guess I proudly sort of identify myself as a Kiwi, born and brought up there, but always loved coming to India. It's people and food and everything is amazing," Ravindra added.
