A dream debut for Prince Yadav in the Indian colors in the T20 International format. The pacer, fresh coming out from an impressive IPL 2026 season, takes not one, but three wickets on his debut T20I match for the Indian cricket team.
He caught the big fish in the decider of the 2-match T20I series between India and Ireland. Ireland skipper Lorcan Tucker was the first to lose a scalp against Prince Yadav.
Prince Yadav announces his arrival in the T20I in style
Prince Yas pumped up when he dismissed Lorcan Tucker inside the 8th over of the first innings. The right-handed batter wanted to hammer the back of the length ball across the line.
Instead of a boundary, the Ireland captain nicked back and was caught in the hands of the keeper Ishan Kishan. The batter misjudged the bounce of the ball and went off guard. A massive moment for Prince Yadav.
The breakthrough every debutant dreams of. 💙

Prasidh Krishna out, Prince Yadav in
The inclusion of the 30-year-old seamer was a bit surprising as it is a must-win match for India ahead of a white-ball series against England.
He joined the playing eleven in place of the experienced pacer Prasidh Krishna, who was too expensive in the previous game when India suffered a 34-run defeat against Ireland. It was Ireland’s first-ever victory against the mighty Indian cricket team across the formats.
For the decisive match of the ongoing series, the Men in Blue make multiple changes in their playing eleven. Replacing Washington Sundar and Prasidh Krishna, Prince and Suryansh Shedge received their T20I debut cap. While Suryansh proved expensive in his second over, Prince was consistent throughout his 4-over spell.
In the 4-over spell, the Lucknow Super Giants prodigy took three wickets for an economy rate of 5.5. Lorcan Tucker, Harry Tector, who claimed a half-century today, and Liam McCarthy were the batters who were dismissed by the debutant seamer.
Prince has just produced one of the best bowling figures as a debutant Indian seamer in the format. After Barinder Sran, Shivam Mavi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Navdeep Saini, Prince Yadav fixed his place in the list, over Jasprit Bumrah.
Best figures on T20I debut for an Indian seamer
4/10 Barinder Sran vs Zim Harare 2016
4/22 Shivam Mavi vs SL Wankhede 2023
3/9 Bhuvneshwar Kumar vs Pak Bengaluru 2012
3/17 Navdeep Saini vs WI Lauderhill 2019
3/22 Prince Yadav vs Ire Belfast 2026 *
3/23 Jasprit Bumrah vs Aus Adelaide 2016
The conditions were favorable for the seamers
At the innings break, Harry Tector said that because of the rain and the overcast conditions, the Indian seamers got extra help from the surface and utilized the conditions well. He mentioned that their bowlers would bowl on the hard lengths and would mix the pace as well in the second innings.
“I think I wouldn’t go far away from the plan that worked the other day. The Indian bowlers showed that if you hit those hard lengths, it can be hard to score. It’s a bit two-paced, so use the wind to our advantage and hopefully take a few early wickets,” Harry Tector stated.
