The England Cricket Board (ECB) has agreed to delay the start of Pakistan’s departure ahead of their limited-overs tour of England to squeeze the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The resumption of the sixth edition of PSL has hit a few roadblocks, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) yet to officially decide the date for its beginning. As per new developments, the tourists will land in the United Kingdom on the 25th of June instead of the 23rd.

But there would be no change to the dates of the matches, with the first ODI set to commence on the 8th of July in Cardiff. London and Birmingham will stage the next two, while Nottingham, Leeds, and Manchester will host the three T20Is to complete the leg. The delayed start will allow the national team players to complete the second phase of PSL in the UAE as the PCB looks to restart on the 7th of June.

The Pakistan Cricket Board and the franchises met in an online session on Tuesday to talk about the progress of staging the remaining matches of PSL 2021. Aside from changing Pakistan’s team departure date for England, they also announced that the final would occur on the 24th of June. With the alteration in the schedule, the number of double-headers will come down to three if the competition kickstarts on the 7th.

Sarfaraz Ahmed was supposed to fly to Abu Dhabi in the wee hours of Sunday morning. But the clearance issues denied him permission, resulting in his return to the hotel. According to some media reports from Pakistan, on Saturday night, the PCB revealed that 16 people would be travelling to Abu Dhabi on a commercial flight.

Nevertheless, only five, including Mohammad Hasnain, received an allowance to board it, while Sarfaraz Ahmed and ten others were left behind at the airport. But the former Pakistan skipper and six others reached Abu Dhabi and the seven-day isolation for those arrived by charter flights from Pakistan will end on the Wednesday afternoon.
