PSL 2024: Quetta Gladiators Appoint Moin Khan As Team Director

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Moin Khan has been appointed as the Team Director of Quetta Gladiators ahead of the next season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The much-awaited season will be the ninth edition of the league.

Moin Khan has been associated with the Gladiators since 2016, the inaugural season of PSL. He was plying his trade as a head coach for the franchise before being made the Team Director ahead of PSL 2024. The Pakistan great brings a wealth of experience and cricketing acumen to his new role as the Gladiators desperately try to turn their fortunes around.

The Gladiators were the most consistent team in the first four seasons of the competition. In the first two seasons, they made it to the finals before making it to the playoffs in the third season. In the fourth season, they finally won the tournament.

However, their performance has deteriorated since then and they are yet to make it to the playoffs since the title-winning campaign. In the last season, they finished at the bottom of the points table after managing to win just 3 of their 10 league games.

Moin Khan becomes Team Director:

Just ahead of the Draft for PSL 2024, Quetta Gladiators have announced the appointment of Moin Khan as the Team Director. The highly-anticipated draft is set to take place at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Wednesday, 13 December 2023.

“The Quetta Gladiators owner Mr. Nadeem Omar and the team management has decided to appoint Pakistan’s former captain and ’92 WC winner Mr. Moin Khan as Team Director,” the franchise stated.

“The owner Mr. Nadeem Omar and the whole team extends their best wishes to the newly appointed Team Director and believes that the team will dominate in the country’s premier cricket league through his skills and wisdom,” added the franchise.
