On Thursday, the PCB rescheduled the match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi, following Indian military strikes. According to reports from British media, English players participating in the PSL 2025 were contemplating leaving the tournament due to security concerns.

PCB Chief Confirms PSL Relocation to UAE for Player Safety
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated that the decision to move the remaining matches of the tournament to the UAE was due to ongoing tensions. Naqvi asserted that the move aims to protect both local and international players, calling them “precious guests.”
“However, in view of the extremely irresponsible and dangerous Indian act of targeting the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, which was manifestly done to disrupt the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League X, the PCB has decided to shift the remaining matches to UAE so that the domestic as well as foreign cricketers, who are our precious guests, can be saved from the possible reckless targeting by India,” he said.
PCB Chief Cites Player Well-Being Behind Pakistan Super League Shift to UAE
Mohsin Naqvi said that the decision to relocate the remaining matches was made with the mental well-being of all players in mind.
“As a responsible organisation that has overcome adversities repeatedly and ensured that the game of cricket flourishes, it was important for us to ensure the mental well-being of all players participating in the HBL PSL.
“I regret that our domestic audience and cricket lovers will not be able to watch these matches in Pakistan’s stadiums.
“Like in the past, we hope that our stakeholders will rally with us to further the best interests of the tournament, our players and the fans. We are committed to ensuring that the league continues to thrive!”
The inaugural season of the PSL took place in 2016 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Earlier in 2025, Dubai was a co-host for the ICC Champions Trophy after tensions between the cricket boards of India and Pakistan disrupted original hosting plans.
