In PSL 2018, the 26-year-old received the opportunity to participate in the Quetta Gladiators, who have been led by Sarfaraz Ahmed. Despite just participating in two matches for Gladiators, Archer gained attention and went on to play for Rajasthan Royals in the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL).

Archer discussed his experience playing in the PSL with Jarrod Kimber’s podcast ‘Red Inker,’ and complimented Sarfaraz as a good leader.

“One thing I’d like to point out that many people are unaware of is that my time in the PSL before my international debut was essential in helping me comprehend the requirements of the modern T20 cricket. While performing under Sarfaraz is similar to playing under [Eoin] Morgan, both have been strong leaders.”

Mumbai Indians signed Jofra Archer in the 15th IPL season:

Many people were surprised by Jofra Archer’s late entry into the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction. Even though the fact that he was almost certain to be out of the IPL this season, the bowler entered the auction pool. Even more shocking, Mumbai Indians outbid Rajasthan Royals for Archer’s services, paying INR 8 crore for him.

After the auction, Akash Ambani, the owner of the Mumbai Indians, was questioned about his motivation for acquiring Jofra Archer at auction. He answered that it was the possibility of partnering Archer and Jasprit Bumrah that prompted him to pursue the Englishman.

“Jofra was also a player for whom Mahela (Jayawardene) made his professional debut. I’m overjoyed to have gotten him. I’m overjoyed to have Jof and Boom leading a dangerous bowling attack, though next year, I’m hoping for a better bowling attack “he had added at the time

Mumbai Indians (MI), the five-time IPL champions, will kick off their season on March 27th against Delhi Capitals. It will also be the IPL 2022’s first double-header day.
