These qualities pushed MI to secure the dynamic left-handed opener’s services for 1 crores at the IPL 2026 Auction at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

The 33-year-old entered the auction with a base price of ₹1 crore. He was one of more than 17 players listed at that price point and came up as the 17th name overall in the auction. De Kock was part of Set Number 3 under the WK1 category at the auction.

Quinton de Kock's IPL career and numbers

Across his IPL career, Quinton de Kock has scored over 3,300 runs, including two centuries, one of which was an unbeaten 140 at an impressive strike rate of 134. Over the years, he has represented six franchises, including the Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

De Kock’s most recent season with KKR was a mixed one. Playing eight matches, the Proteas star scored 152 runs at an average of 21.71 and a strike rate of 129.91. This forced the KKR to release him ahead of the auction. Now, he is set for a fresh challenge in the IPL 2026.
