The 25-year-old New Zealand National Cricket Team left-handed batsman Rachin Ravindra created history with his batting masterclass in the 6th match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Monday, February 24.
ICC Champions Trophy match between the Bangladesh National Cricket Team and the New Zealand National Cricket Team was hosted by the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Rachin Ravindra smashes 112 runs off 105 balls vs Bangladesh
Ravindra came out to bat in the middle after New Zealand lost both Will Young and Kane Williamson early at the score of 15 runs inside four overs.
Playing his first-ever match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after replacing sick Daryl Mitchell in the playing XI, Rachin Ravindra looked calm and composed.
He batted brilliantly against the Bangladesh bowlers and never looked in any kind of trouble. The left-handed batter attacked the bowlers after getting set and built match-winning partnerships with Devon Conway and Tom Latham.
He completed a run-a-ball fifty and then set his eyes on the ton. Rachin Ravindra kept playing well and finally completed his marvelous century in the 35th over.
On the 5th ball of the over, Ravindra tapped a length delivery from Nahid Rana to point for a single to reach the three-figure mark off 95 balls. He calmly removed his helmet and soaked in all the applause from the crowd.
