Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Hazratullah Zazai break the silence after Pakistan blasts Kabul and Kandahar
In the early hours of Friday (February 27), blasts rocked Afghanistan's cities. Pakistani fighter jets destroyed the capitals Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia and impacted several families. The Pakistani government called it an open war after fresh clashes along the Durand Line.
The Afghan Taliban hit back with attacks on Pakistani border posts, with the tension rising within hours. The two Asian neighbours had agreed to a ceasefire in October 2025 after deadly cross-border fighting, but the tension has yet again exploded.

Pakistan stated that they targeted militants after repeated attacks on their soil. Kabul denies the accusations. Pakistan claimed to have killed over 100 Taliban fighters, while Afghanistan said dozens of Pakistani soldiers died in fierce fighting and claimed they captured posts along the border.
Hazratullah Zazai demands respect for Afghanistan’s sovereignty
Amid this cross-border war, Afghanistan batter Hazratullah Zazai raised his voice for his people and demanded respect for the country’s sovereignty.
Zazai posted, X: “Attacks on Afghanistan are a clear violation of sovereignty and human dignity. Carrying out strikes across borders and endangering civilian lives is reckless and unacceptable. Afghanistan is not a battlefield for others to prove their power. Every bomb that falls on our soil only strengthens our resolve for dignity and justice.”
He continued, “Innocent families must never pay the price for political conflicts. The rain of bombs burns the innocent, not the ranks of the homeland. The people will be on every side; we are united on the side of the homeland. #LongLiveAfghanistan."

Mohsin Naqvi defends Pakistan’s military strikes on Afghanistan; PM Sharif warns Kabul
Meanwhile, Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman and Pakistan’s Interior Minister, has strongly defended Pakistan’s military action. The ACC chairman said the attacks inside Afghanistan were a strong and proper reply to recent cross-border incidents.

He described the action as “open aggression," as his ministry office claimed that Afghanistan had “opened unprovoked fire on multiple locations” across the border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Naqvi was quoted as saying by AFP, "Pakistan's armed forces have given a befitting response to the Afghan Taliban's open aggression.”
On the other hand, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif issued a strong warning to Kabul and said their armed forces are fully ready to crush and defeat any threat against the country.
At the same time, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said Pakistan has shown enough patience, and the situation has now turned into open war between the two countries.
