Rajasthan Royals in shock! Coach and star player refuse to return for IPL 2025

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are all set to face a massive blow ahead of the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. As per the reports in the Times of India, it is learned that two of the key members of the team won't be returning for the second phase of the league.

The reports claimed that bowling coach Shane Bond is highly unlikely to return to India for the last two games of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Also, there is no clarity whether the West Indies National Cricket Team batter Shimron Hetmyer will return for the last two matches or not.

The foreign players of all the IPL teams went back home after the IPL 2025 was suspended due to the war-like situation that was there between India and Pakistan. The tense situation between the nations also had a massive impact on the 18th edition of the league.

BCCI was forced to suspend the IPL 2025 after the PBKS vs DC game was stopped in the middle

The game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was stopped in the middle after Pakistan launched an attack in the Pathankot region, which was around 80 km away from the Dharamsala Stadium. All the players, along with fans, were evacuated from the stadium.

Following that, BCCI was forced to suspend the IPL, and foreign players also rushed back home. The overseas players were safely sent back by the governing body, but it might now prove costly for them as the league is all set to resume.

After the ceasefire, the BCCI released the revised schedule of the IPL 2025. The league is all set to resume from 17th May with the clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The final will be taking place on 3rd June.

The remainder of the IPL will be played across six venues as the BCCI doesn't want to take any unnecessary risk. Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad will see the remaining 17 games of the tournament being played, with playoffs expected to take place in Ahmedabad and Mumbai.

Coming to the Rajasthan Royals, they have been eliminated from the IPL 2025. The Sanju Samson-led side was very poor with bat and ball as they lost very close games and are currently reeling at the bottom half of the points table.

Rajasthan Royals so far has played 12 games in the IPL 2025 and have won just 3 games. With just two games remaining for them, they would be keen to finish the tournament on a high. They will next be seen in action when they take on Punjab Kings on 18th May.
