IPL 2025 was the centre of some memorable performances and also saw history being made with RCB winning their first title. In this article, we will look at the performance of RR.
Rajasthan Royals Squad Rating for IPL 2025: 7/10
The winners of the inaugural IPL edition Rajasthan Royals, found themself in a peculiar situation in IPL 2025, where they were not able to finish games despite being within touching distance of a win.
RR should have won at least four matches that they lost in the last overs, with three of those losses coming on the last ball, which could have turned things around for the Sanju Samson-led side.
The team had a strong batting lineup and a potent bowling attack, but somehow managed to lose games from a position of strength.
RR comprised the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, Nitish Rana, and Dhruv Jurel, all of whom are capable of winning matches for the team.
Along with the above-mentioned names, RR also unearthed 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who grabbed everyone's attention with a six on the very first ball of his IPL career.
The left-hander went a step further and scored the fastest hundred by an Indian in IPL history against GT at RR's home ground.
Vaibhav formed a solid partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal, who ended the tournament as the highest run scorer for RR.
Having said all was not hunky dory for Rajasthan Royals as they faced a few injury setbacks in the form of captain Sanju Samson and Nitish Rana both of whom were a crucial part of the playing XI.
Rana's injury came to haunt Rajasthan Royals in a big way as they struggled to find a perfect middle-order replacement for Rana, and always appeared like one batter short in a chase.
The pressure of an unsettled batting lineup took a toll on stand-in skipper Riyan Parag's game as well, and the right-hander found it difficult to curtail his aggressive instincts while batting.
All things said, closing out matches was the biggest problem that RR had to face in the recently concluded season.
The duo of Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel found itself at the centre of these tricky situations on most occasions.

Rajasthan Royals' bowling department, which had some big names at the helm, also disappointed in IPL 2025.
Jofra Archer, who was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan Royals, struggled to find support from the other end and had to take the responsibility of taking wickets in all phases of the innings
The likes of Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma, and Fazalhaq Farooqi failed to make a significant contribution.
The Sri Lankan pair of Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana were also ineffective in the middle overs.
