Virat Kohli has been yet again brought back into the headlines for his controversial online incident featuring the young sensation Avneet Kaur by the Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh. Last month, Virat Kohli had found himself in the middle of an unexpected social media storm.
Actually, the Indian cricket superstar had liked an Instagram post shared by the actress Avneet Kaur. It was just a like, but users speculated and criticized Kohli for the same, and his action eventually turned into a full-blown controversy.

This forced the former Indian captain to clear the air himself, stating that it was an algorithm error, but by then, social media had already erupted with debates and reactions.
Clarifying the incident, Kohli posted on his Instagram story, “I'd to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding.”
Now, sharing her views on the controversy, Rakul Preet Singh expressed her disappointment over how such an unimportant issue made headlines. The actress has pointed out how surprising it was that something as minor as an accidental Instagram like could trigger such intense chatter.

Hum bohot velle hain ki humko yeh bhi pata chal gaya ke 2 million followers badh gaye. Fark hi nahi padta na yaar. Kya fark padta hai agar kisi ne like kara, ya nahi kara, ya galti se ho gaya (It is so sad. We have too much time on our hands to know that two million followers increased. How does it matter if someone liked it or did not like it, or it happened accidentally?),"
