Indian all-rounder Ramandeep Singh has made some interesting choices while comparing some of the biggest names in Indian and world cricket. Ramandeep Singh has turned heads after he picked Shubman Gill ahead of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
The KKR star also hailed Kohli’s mindset and revealed how he tries to learn from the former India captain. However, when asked to choose between Kohli and South African legend AB de Villiers, Ramandeep went with the RCB icon because he has followed his batting for a long time. Ramandeep Singh hails Virat Kohli’s champion mindset
Ramandeep said that he is a big fan of Virat Kohli’s approach to the game, as he recalled his first interaction with the former Indian captain and how he approaches the T20 format.
He explained that Kohli always believes a target can be chased and works out a clear plan about how many runs he needs to score and at what rate. The all-rounder also revealed that he tries to learn as much as possible whenever he gets the opportunity to interact with Kohli.
Ramandeep Singh said on Sports Yaari, “Talking about Virat Kohli, everyone knows his mindset. His approach to the game and his champion's mindset—I like it a lot, and I am a fan. I talk to him, interact with him, and try to learn whatever I can from the game.
When he is betting, he feels that no target is unachievable for him. He tries to build his game plan. He feels that if they are batting first, things can be different. But in chase, he has a clear path. How to make runs and at what rate. I try to learn from him.”

Ramandeep calls Rohit Sharma a special captain
Ramandeep also opened up about his experience of playing under Rohit Sharma. He described Rohit as one of the best captains and highlighted his ability to bring the best out of every player.
Having already played under Rohit for Mumbai Indians, the all-rounder said that the former Indian captain’s biggest strength as a captain is how to get the best out of both batters and bowlers.
Ramandeep further explained, “As a captain, again, one of the best captains. The reason is that he knows how to take 100% of every player, whatever their potential is. And his specialty is, as we say, cricketers; he is a bowler's captain. He lets the bowler bowl according to his field, according to his plan. He is such a captain. So, his specialty is that he knows how to get the best out of the bowler and the batsman. So that is his specialty.”

Ramandeep was then asked to make quick choices between several star batters. Surprisingly, the KKR star picked Shubman Gill over Rohit Sharma during the same discussion. Amid this, Virat Kohli recalls the trauma of India's 2019 World Cup heartbreak.
Gill also got the nod ahead of young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, when Gill was compared with Virat Kohli, Ramandeep went with the dashing right-handed batter. He also picked Kohli over MS Dhoni in another big comparison.

The all-rounder said, “I have been following AB De Villiers batting since the beginning. His intent and the way he has won matches. So, for me, the last guy you kept, if you had kept him in the beginning, he would have been the same.”
