Ramiz Raja drunk ON AIR? Weird behaviour causes chaos in Pakistan

PCB has been left astonished by bizarre behaviour from former Chairman and Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raja, who also made a false pitch report ahead of the first ODI clash between Pakistan and South Africa at Faisalabad.

Pakistan is currently hosting South Africa for a long series across all three formats of the game.

However, they faced the main South African team only in the red-ball format, while they are playing with their third-tier team in the two remaining formats, since the bigger names are preparing for the crucial series against India, also starting this month from the 14th.

Pakistan ended the Test series in a 1-1 draw and then won the T20I series with a 2-1 margin; coming from behind, they lifted the trophy. The One-dayers started on the 4th of November, and they are ahead with a 2-wicket win in the first ODI at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.

Ramiz Raja keeps fans guessing with awkward behaviour during the Match Pitch Report

Before the Pakistan vs South Africa match proceedings could start, former Pakistan cricketer-turned-administrator and former chairman of the PCB, Ramiz Raja, took the field for a pitch report alongside a fellow commentator.

However, as Ramiz Raja approached the pitch, he seemed to be behaving awkwardly. He swayed on the pitch and launched a verdict on the nature of the pitch.

In doing so, he used awkward hand gestures and made some silly comments to the fellow commentator. He could not even spot the camera without the help of his fellow commentator.

The Pakistan Cricket fans have been left shocked by such behaviour, while some have unleashed their fury, saying that he should not be allowed to even enter the field at game times.

'This pitch would spin a lot': verdict gone wrong for former PCB Chairman

Ramiz Raja, while assessing the pitch and giving a verdict on the pitch report, had completely misjudged the conditions. The Playing XI consisted of four spinners for the Pakistan team and two spinners in the Protea team.

"The smartest pitch report ever recorded because I can sum up the conditions in one sentence. It's going to spin a lot (not this much, not this much, but that much, indicating the limits using hand gestures)," said Ramiz Raja.

This was a nonsensical verdict from Ramiz Raja, as of the 18 wickets that went down in the game, only 8 were picked by spinners. Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed picked 3 wickets, Saim Ayub picked 2, and Mohammad Nawaz picked a wicket as well. The South African spinners both had just one under their belt.

Pakistan inch past South Africa in neck-to-neck thriller at Faisalabad

South Africa batted first, and Quinton de Kock, who is making a comeback to international cricket after having overturned his retirement, amassed 63 runs, the most for the Protea batters. The opening partnership stood for a long time, as Luhan de Pretorious also scored a half-century.

The innings could not continue the momentum with Matthew Bretzkee missing out on a half-century for the first time in his One-Day career. Corbin Bosch further added a valuable 41 runs towards the death overs.

For Pakistan, their top order contributed humbly, but the majority of the scoring was done between the former skipper Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha. They edged past South Africa's total with a half-century for both.

This marked Pakistan's first win in an ODI match after Shaheen Afridi's appointment as full-time Pakistan skipper.
