Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja gave a befitting reply to Hasan Raza for his allegations about the Indian Cricket Team following their breathtaking performances in the ICC World Cup 2023. He said that it’s all magic what Indian bowlers are doing and we should appreciate their skills.
India’s cricket team produced a magnificent performance in the league stage of the ICC World Cup 2023. The Men in Blue won 9 out of their 9 games in the tournament and were unbeaten in the stage of the team. Each and every player contributed and helped them dominate.
Indian batters looked in great touch throughout the 9 games and contributed at the crucial junctures. Bowlers complimented them equally well and rattled the opposition in almost every game. In particular, the pacers set the stage on fire as they extracted huge swings in almost every game and troubled the batters.
Almost every cricket lover was in awe of India’s performance in the tournament, and one statement from Pakistan great Hasan Raza surprised many. He said that ICC is giving different balls to Indian bowlers which swings more. He also said that BCCI is manipulating the DRS technology.
“We are seeing that when they are batting, they bat really well and suddenly the ball starts doing things when India bowls. There have been 7-8 close DRS calls that have gone in their favour. The way Siraj and Shami were swinging the ball, it seemed like the ICC or the BCCI were giving them different and suspicious balls in the second innings. There needs to be an inspection done on the ball. There could also be an extra layer of coating on the ball for swing.”
Ramiz Raja Gives A Befitting Reply To Hasan Raza For His Allegations On India; Asks Him Why Pakistan Couldn’t Do It
Following his statement, many fans and pundits criticized him and the latest to join the bandwagon is Ramiz Raja. The former PCB chief mocked him by saying that this can happen when Pakistani batters bat a cricket ball that seems golf ball to them.
Ramiz Raja also lauded the Indian bowlers, saying that they are setting up the new level. He said that when Indian bowlers can do that why can’t Pakistan? He explained:
“Yes it can happen that when Pakistani batsmen are batting, the cricket ball seems as small as a golf ball to them. That is the only difference. I don’t think there’s any other difference. Ye jaadugari hai (it’s a magic). This control, swing, seam movement. This is greatness.
“This is a skill; we should appreciate this skill because at the end of the day, when players like these emerge, the level of cricket goes up. They are setting up the level, other teams have to reach their level. When a subcontinent team is doing like this, why can’t Pakistan do this?”
Pakistan had a poor performance in the ICC World Cup 2023. They managed just 4 wins in the tournament and suffered disappointing losses against India, Australia, Afghanistan, South Africa, and England.
