Ravi Bishnoi bought by Rajasthan Royals for INR 7.2 crore at IPL Auction 2026
One of the leading spinners up for the IPL 2026 mini-auction, Ravi Bishnoi, was expected to draw a massive bid. However, the bidding war did not intensify a lot, with not more than three teams seemingly interested in having the former LSG spinner.
The young Indian spin sensation, whose release from the Lucknow Super Giants was by itself a massive surprise, as he has been one of their best performers over the years, has been grabbed by the spin-favouring Rajasthan Royals side after a bidding war with the Chennai Super Kings and the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Ravi Bishnoi goes to the Rajasthan Royals for INR 7.20 crore
The Indian spinner undoubtedly was one of the most essential players, since spinners that are also of Indian origin are rare at the auction table, as most of the franchises are keen on retaining such players. However, following Digvesh Rathi's rise to prominence, Bishnoi was deemed unimportant to LSG.
Ravi Bishnoi was bought for a decent INR 7.20 crore by the Rajasthan Royals. The Royals have always favoured fine spinners, as they paired two of India's finest spinners, R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, till the 2024 season.
Ravi Bishnoi to pair alongside Ravindra Jadeja
Bishnoi would now be paired alongside Ravindra Jadeja, the veteran all-rounder in the Royals camp.
Before turning up to play for his home state franchise for the first time, Ravi Bishnoi had played for two franchises in the IPL.
He represented Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants between 2020 and 2025 and has picked 72 scalps in 77 matches, with his best season coming with the Super Giants in 2023.
