Ravindra Jadeja enters elite club with 250 Test wickets on Indian soil
This wicket was a special milestone for Ravindra Jadeja. It was Jadeja’s 250th Test wicket on home soil, proving why he remains one of the most dangerous all-rounders in Test cricket.
The left-arm spinner now joins an elite group of Indian bowlers, becoming the fourth player after Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, and Ravichandran Ashwin to achieve this feat at home in Tests.

India vs South Africa 1st Test Story so far
Well, Day 2 of the first test between India and South Africa at Eden Gardens was full of exciting cricket. Ravindra Jadeja is in sublime form, tearing through South Africa’s middle order and leaving them struggling at five down with a brilliant four-wicket spell.
Kuldeep Yadav struck before tea, sending back Ryan Rickelton to leave South Africa at 18/1 in just 6.4 overs. Earlier, Simon Harmer impressed with a four-wicket haul as South Africa bowled India out for 189, but they still managed a 30-run first-innings lead at the Eden Gardens.
India has suffered a massive blow when the captain, Shubman Gill, left the field due to a neck injury, while Rishabh Pant (27) and KL Rahul (39) failed to convert good starts, leaving India at 138/4 at lunch. However, Rahul reached his 4,000-run milestone in Test cricket.
Later, Washington Sundar (29) showed some assistance, but the South African attack led by Marco Jansen and Wiaan Mulder made it tough for the hosts, with batters managing even 40 runs at the Eden Gardens in their first innings.
Earlier, South Africa had begun Day 1 strong at 57/0, but Jasprit Bumrah changed everything with a sensational five-wicket haul, including two wickets in just five balls. Kuldeep and Mohammad Siraj each scalped two wickets as South Africa was bowled out for 159 in their first innings. South Africa’s current score reads 91/6, taking a 60-run lead against India in the ongoing first Test in Kolkata.
