Ravindra Jadeja creates history in Galle, joins elite 350-wicket club
Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Keshara Nuwantha to complete the 350 Test wickets and became the first-ever Indian left-arm spinner to achieve the landmark on Monday, August 17, in Galle. Overall, the Indian all-rounder has climbed to third place among left-arm spinners with the most Test wickets.

Jadeja becomes fifth Indian to reach 350 Test wickets
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja’s 350 Test wickets have added another big achievement to his already impressive career. Among left-arm spinners who have taken at least 125 wickets in Test cricket, only South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj has a better strike rate than Jadeja.
Maharaj’s strike rate is 56.4, while Jadeja has a strong strike rate of 58.1. Jadeja has also become only the fifth Indian bowler to reach 350 Test wickets. He has now joined an elite list that includes the legends like Anil Kumble (619 wickets), Ravichandran Ashwin (537 wickets), Kapil Dev (434 wickets), and Harbhajan Singh (417 wickets).
Ravindra Jadeja joins Kapil Dev, Ian Botham and Daniel Vettori in a rare Test double
The Indian all-rounder has made another rare record during the ongoing first Test against England. Only three other players in Test history have scored more than 4,000 runs and taken at least 350 wickets. Kapil Dev achieved the double with 5,248 runs and 434 wickets.
Ian Botham finished with 5,200 runs and 383 wickets, while Daniel Vettori scored 4,531 runs and took 362 wickets. With over 4000 runs and 350 wickets in Tests, Jadeja is now the fourth all-rounder to do so, showing just how valuable he has been as an all-rounder for India in Test cricket. India get another huge wicket as Ravindra Jadeja traps centurion Sonal Dinusha LBW
After taking the key wicket of Keshara Nuwantha, Ravindra Jadeja has given India another big breakthrough by dismissing Sri Lanka’s centurion Sonal Dinusha. He was looking very set after completing his century, but Jadeja changed the game with a clever delivery.
The Indian left-arm spinner bowled from around the wicket and sent down a flighted ball that turned sharply after pitching. Dinusha went on the back foot and tried to play a simple flick shot. However, he completely missed the ball. It hit him directly in front of the middle stump.
The umpire gave him out LBW, and the ball-tracking showed three reds, meaning the ball would have hit the middle stump. Dinusha was surprised by the dismissal and even looked like he felt he had touched the ball. But UltraEdge showed no contact with the bat.
