In a dramatic moment, Ravindra Jadeja and everyone else were left in utter disbelief as the Decision Review System (DRS) dramatically overturned a straightforward dismissal of Senuran Muthusamy in the ongoing second and final Test between India and South Africa in Guwahati.
The incident unfolded on the second ball of the 104th over when Ravindra Jadeja bowled a 92 km/h delivery that spun in from a length. Senuran Muthusamy went down to play a sweep shot but missed it. The ball bumped straight into his front pad, so Jadeja went up instantly for LBW.

The on-field umpire, Rod Tucker, immediately raised his finger without hesitation, and the Indian camp started celebrating Muthusamy’s wicket. However, the South African all-rounder felt he had touched the ball with his glove, so he immediately asked for a review.

And then what followed stunned everyone, especially Ravindra Jadeja. The replays showed the ball turning, dipping, and striking the pad, but when the third umpire checked the UltraEdge replay, the real drama exploded. There was a small spike showing that the ball slightly touched the glove before hitting the pad.
It was barely noticeable, but it was enough. The third umpire, Chris Gaffaney, confirmed that there was a glove involved, which meant Rod Tucker’s decision had to be overturned.
On the giant screen, Muthusamy was handed the lifeline as Ravindra Jadeja stood absolutely shell-shocked, and Tucker remained motionless, almost like a statue, as his decision was overturned.

India left helpless as Senuran Muthusamy and Kyle Verreynne drain their energy
Meanwhile, India walked off for the tea break looking tired, frustrated, and completely out of answers as Senuran Muthusamy and Kyle Verreynne refused to give away their wickets in the ongoing final Test at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
The Indian bowlers tried everything from fast bowling, spin, short balls to fuller balls, but nothing worked, and they endured a wicketless session that sucked their energy. The pitch in Guwahati was flat enough for the batters to score comfortably, and even though it offered a bit of turn, it still did not trouble the South Africa duo of Muthusamy and Kyle much.

Muthusamy batted with complete control, showing great patience and building his innings slowly. He reached his fifty in 121 balls. In the current South African lineup, Muthusamy is the only batter with a Test average above 40, and in the ongoing Test, he is showing why he is so dependable.

At the other end, Verreynne supported Muthusamy perfectly. He stayed calm, left the risky deliveries, and kept rotating the strike. Verreynne and Muthusamy stitched a strong 70-run partnership for the seventh wicket, and they looked set for more against India.
Well, South Africa had already crossed the 315-run mark in their first innings, while India is now desperate for a breakthrough after the tea break in the ongoing second and final Test in Guwahati. Notably, Muthusamy is on his second tour of India, having visited the country back in 2019. Virat Kohli was his maiden Test wicket, and he had called it an “awesome experience.”
