RCB make IPL history with a perfect away streak

In their final league clash, the men in red and gold registered a dominant victory over the LSG, thanks to a fearless match-winning knock of an unbeaten 85 runs off just 33 balls from the stand-in captain Jitesh Sharma. It was RCB’s seventh away victory in the IPL 2025, winning all their away games.

After achieving a 100% away record this season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru became the first team in IPL history to win all seven away matches in a single season.

Previously, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) had won seven away games in 2012, but they couldn’t keep a perfect streak in that season. RCB has so far had a flawless run across India as they chase their maiden IPL title.

7 cities, 7 wins for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025

It all began in Kolkata, where they shocked the defending champions KKR in the very first match of the season. They had crushed KKR by seven wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Then, RCB walked into the Chepauk Stadium as they owned it, crushing Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by a huge 50-run margin in their second away game this season.

Later, Royal Challengers Bengaluru stunned the crowd at the Wankhede Stadium with another clinical 12-run win over Mumbai Indians, followed by a dominant 9-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

In Mullanpur, Royal Challengers Bengaluru thrashed the Punjab Kings by seven wickets and then hunted down the Delhi Capitals by six wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, and now in Lucknow, they stunned LSG with another 6-wicket win to complete their unbeaten streak in the league phase in IPL 2025.

RCB finish the IPL league stage in Top-2 for the first time since 2016

With the top two finishes in the standings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru will now face PBKS in the all-important Qualifier 1 on Thursday, May 29, in Chandigarh.

The winner of this match will go straight to the IPL 2025 final. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans will battle it out with Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator on May 30, where the loser will be knocked out of the tournament.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have made history once again by finishing in the top two of the league stage for the third time in IPL history. RCB previously achieved this feat back in 2011 and 2016, and on both occasions, they went on to finish as runners-up.
