RCB take dig at MS Dhoni with ‘wicket ke piche’ post after Jitesh Sharma’s stunning catch

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) took a dig at legendary skipper MS Dhoni on social media during their win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The defending champions mocked the veteran wicketkeeper with a famous Hindi quote associated with Dhoni after Jitesh Sharma completed a one-handed catch.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Chennai Super Kings by 43 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, April 5. The home team posted a total of 250 after being asked to bat first. In response, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side managed only 207 runs and were bowled out in the final over of the match.

Shivam Dube scored 18 runs off 13 balls before losing his wicket in the tenth over. Abhinandan Singh bowled a delivery that took the inside edge of the bat. Jitesh Sharma dived to his right and completed a one-handed catch to dismiss Shivam Dube.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s social media account shared a video clip of the catch by Jitesh Sharma on X (formerly known as Twitter). The franchise wrote a short Hindi caption directly referencing the famous phrase dedicated to former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni.

Dhoni is known for his sharp wicketkeeping skills. Fans remember the legendary player with the phrase, “Ek tha jo wicket ke piche se game palat deta tha.”
Chennai Super Kings Fans React To Mockery
Chennai Super Kings fans reacted negatively to the social media post. They reminded Royal Challengers Bengaluru supporters about the difference in championship titles, as Chennai Super Kings have won five Indian Premier League trophies.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru won their first title last season after defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Rajat Patidar guided the team to their first-ever title victory.
MS Dhoni missed the match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium due to a side strain injury. The wicketkeeper batter is expected to miss at least 6-7 matches in the tournament.
Before the run chase, Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 250/3 in 20 overs. Tim David top-scored with 70 runs off 25 balls. Devdutt Padikkal made 50 runs, while Rajat Patidar and Phil Salt chipped in with 48 runs each.
Anshul Kamboj, Jamie Overton, and Shivam Dube took one wicket each for Chennai Super Kings. During the chase, Sarfaraz Khan scored 50 runs off 25 balls. Prashant Veer made 43 runs, and Jamie Overton added 37 runs. Chennai Super Kings finished with a total of 207 runs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar led the RCB pace attack with three wickets. Krunal Pandya, Jacob Duffy, and Abhinandan Singh took two wickets each. The defending champions registered their fourth consecutive win over the Chennai Super Kings.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru moved to the top of the points table, having won their first two matches of the season. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings remained at the bottom after losing three consecutive matches in the early stages of the tournament.
