Virat Kohli has said he is hopeful of visiting Pakistan in the future while interacting with Pakistan mountaineer Shehroze Kashif.
Kashif grabbed the limelight in 2021 when he became the world's youngster mountaineer to summit K2. He got the opportunity to talk to the Indian cricket superstar by a stroke of luck. He was in Nepal in 2022 when he met an Indian individual who claimed to have connections with the Indian cricket team.
Kashif expressed his wish to have a conversation with Virat Kohli and the individual made sure to make the necessary arrangements. The Pakistani mountaineer had a conversation with the former India skipper and posted a clip of the same on his Instagram account. He posted the video with the caption:
"In 2022 i was in Nepal when a stranger, originally from India(ofc not gonna say his name so he doesn't get in any trouble due to political reasons), praised my work.
"He mentioned he had connections to the cricket team, so I jokingly expressed my desire to talk to Virat Kohli. To my surprise, he messaged Kohli on my behalf, and I had the opportunity to chat with him via video call. As a Pakistani, I proudly acknowledge Kohli as the greatest batsman of this era," he added.
In the video, Virat Kohli could be heard telling Kashif that he was hopeful of visiting Pakistan soon.
"Give my regards to your family and all your friends. Hopefully, we visit Pakistan soon, everyone's started visiting now," said the India batting star.

Virat Kohli yet to visit Pakistan:
While Virat Kohli has played in all the major cricketing nations of the world, he is yet to play a game in Pakistan since the bilateral relation between the two countries is suspended due to political reasons. India last visited Pakistan in 2008 for the Asia Cup which was held in June - July.
Incidentally, Virat Kohli made his debut in international cricket one month later and is yet to visit Pakistan as an Indian player. However, he has faced Pakistan a number of times in ICC competitions and Asia Cups and has a stunning record against them. Kohli will be up against Pakistan next month when the arch-rivals lock horns against each other in the T20 World Cup.
