The RCB vs SRH IPL 2024 match will be played on Monday, April 15 from 7.30 pm IST. Both these teams face off for the first time in IPL 2024 as it marks almost the halfway point of the tournament.
RCB vs SRH Team Analysis
Royal Challengers Bangalore
The side has now lost five out of the six games they have played so far in the season. Their only win so far came against Punjab Kings at home. In every game they lost, their bowlers were taken for plenty. In their latest defeat against MI, they failed to defend 196. Every bowler leaked runs at an economy of more than 10.
Skipper Faf du Plessis was at a loss for words trying to justify the reasons for RCB's failure so far in the season. Their batters have done a good job so far however, their bowling is perhaps the weakest in the tournament.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH won their previous game against Punjsb KIngs as they were able to defend 182 in Mullanpur. Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma gave them a score but they managed to weather the storm. Their batting has the depth and their bowling has the quality to put up a challenge against RCB.
They have won just two out of the last five games against RCB. However, they can take advantage of RCB's current form which has been terrible.
RCB vs SRH Key Factors
Pitch Conditions
The Chinnaswamy pitch has always been a high-scoring venue. Three games have been played so far at this venue out of which two have been won chasing.
The ground has an impact of dew that allows the chasing team to have the benefit in the second innings. With big hitters on both sides, this match has all the making of a high-scoring contest.
Form and Fitness
The form of the RCB bowlers has been awful in the first few games so far. They have leaked runs from both ends and the changes within the XI have not worked so far.
Karn Shama has been kept on the bench being a specialist leggie. The use of Will Jacks and Glenn Maxwell has not boded well. The batting is heavily reliant on Virat Kohli, though DK got some runs in the last game against MI.
SRH have found players almost in every game who have stood up for their team. In the last match, it was Nitish Kumar Reddy. The bowlers have performed unanimously as well and defended totals.
Fitness-wise, Glenn Maxwell is ruled out of the next match against SRH as he picked up a finger injury in the match against MI. There are no injury concerns for SRH who have rotated their XI well so far.
Tactical Acumen
The tactical acumen of Faf du Plessis has been questionable so far. He just allowed the MI batters and especially SKY and Ishan Kishan to dominate them in the last game. He has not been attacking enough as captain.
Pat Cummins, has led SRH well so far. In the last game against PBKS, he rotated his bowlers well as they successfully defended the target of 182. He has taken six wickets in five games so far.
