India emerged as the champions of the ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 with a thumping win over South Africa in the final played at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was a dominating performance from the girls in blue who continued their stupendous run in the tournament.
After electing to bat first, South Africa were bundled out for a below-par 82 in 20 overs. Indian spinners were at it again as they shared a staggering nine wickets between them and didn't allow South Africa to get away.
India ensured to chase down the target without many hiccups and reached there in just 11.2 overs. Opener Gongadi Trisha continued her great run with the bat and finished with 44 off 33 balls. Vice-captain Sanika Chalke remained unbeaten on 26 off 22 balls and hit the winning runs as well.
After the win, the social media erupted in joy and congratulated the team on winning the trophy. Former India offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin was among the first to congratulate the team.

Gongadi Trisha shines with bat and ball
It was a thoroughly dominating tournament for India who won each game with a great margin. The girls in Blue hardly broke a sweat to reach the semifinals.
They were put in a spot of bother by the England batters at one point in the semifinal but the girls held their nerve to win the game comfortably in the end. India didn't allow South Africa to get ahead of them in the final.
Gongadi Trisha finished with 3-15 in four overs with the ball. She then smashed an unbeaten 44 off 33 balls with the bat to take her team to a win by 9 wickets. Trisha was also adjudged the Player of the Series for scoring 309 runs and picking up 7 wickets.
