'Remove soother from mouth': Aakash Chopra slams Australian media over Mohammed Siraj-Travis Head incident

The altercation between Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head was one of the main talking points of the second Test between Australia and India in Adelaide. Both the players shared some words with each other after Siraj dismissed Head during the Adelaide Test.

After the incident, Head revealed that he had jokingly said, "well bowled" to Siraj. However, Siraj said otherwise and made serious allegations against the Head, claiming that he lied in the press conference.

Recently, former India opener Aakash Chopra has shared his views on the topic. Chopra blasted the Australian media for calling Siraj a "disgrace" and instead reminded them of their own actions over the years.

After the incident between Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head, the Australian media was all over India quick and even called him a "disgrace" to Indian cricket. Chopra was clearly unhappy with this behavior and reminded them of Australia's sportsman spirit.

Aakash Chopra tears apart Australian media on Mohammed Siraj-Travis Head incident

While speaking in a video on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra was furious at the Australian media for using such a term for Mohammed Siraj. He reminded them journalist of Australia's unwanted incidents which have tarnished their image over the years.

"A talking point of the last match was Mohammed Siraj vs Travis Head, who said what, when, and why. It became a topic of discussion. Someone, I think he is a journalist, said Siraj is a disgrace to cricket, India, and everything," Chopra said.

"I said were you born yesterday. Remove the soother from the mouth because if you are an Australian, see what your Australia have done," he added.

Chopra didn't stop here and spoke about Australia's sportsman spirit. He even went on to claim that the Australians and sportsman spirit don't go together and they don't deserve to be saying such things.

"Who is the disgrace? Coal calling the kettle black. Just think a little. I would say Australians and sportsman spirit, the beautiful wonderful behavior, don't go hand in hand. They do not exist. You cannot use them in the same sentence. That is the reality," the former India batter added.

Aakash Chopra reminds Australia of racial comments on Mohammed Siraj

In the same video, Aakash Chopra reminded Australia of the incident in the previous Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia when Mohammed Siraj had to face racial comments from the local fans.

"I remember the Sydney Test of last time. Your guys were making racial comments. They were your fans and they had to be moved out, and then only the match started. Have you forgotten that? Siraj was on the receiving end there. So please guys, get your act together," he noted.

During the Sydney Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21, Mohammed Siraj complained of racial comments from the local Australian crowd. The match had to be stopped in between as India's captain Ajinkya Rahane stood with his team's fast bowler.

The match continued later after those people were thrown out of the stadium. The Test match ended in thrilling draw after a brave rescue act from Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin.
