The Indian women’s team will participate in a short training camp ahead before leaving for Australia. India and Australia will clash in a day and night Test in three ODIs, three T20Is and a one-off Test, starting with the 50-over games on the 19th of September. According to reports, 30 women cricketers will assemble in Bangalore this evening for the camp.

After delivering an impressive performance in their only Test against England in Bristol this year, India will look to make an impression in Australia too. India played their only Test in Australia back in February 2006, which the latter won by an innings and four runs in Adelaide. However, the women in blue have never played a pink-ball Test before.

ESPN Cricinfo underlined that the Indian women’s side would leave for Australia on the 29th or 30th of August. A final squad of 30, including Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Shafali Verma returning from The Hundred in England would be selected for the tour.

Meanwhile, the visiting side would spend a couple of weeks quarantining in Australia before kickstarting their training. With India having never played a pink-ball Test before, they will play a few intra-squad games with the pink ball before the big game against the hosts.
