Revealed: Who are the Impact Players nominated for KKR vs GT match 39 of IPL 2025?

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are going head-to-head with each other in the 39th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Monday, April 21, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The list of Impact Players nominated by the Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans and the Ajinkya Rahane-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has officially been revealed.

KKR, the defending champions, have not had a good campaign in IPL 2025 despite having retained core players from the triumphant 2024 season campaign.

They only lost Phil Salt and 'skipper' Shreyas Iyer in the batting department, and suddenly, they have the second-lowest scoring rate (9.05 runs per over) in IPL 2025.

Thanks to their bowling unit, which has been the most economical (8.30) in the tournament, they have managed to remain alive in the competition.

Currently, Kolkata Knight Riders occupy the 7th spot on the IPL 2025 Points Table with three wins and four losses, and they are yet to win back-to-back matches on the trot.

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans (GT) are once again having a tremendous campaign in IPL and they are sitting at the top of the table with five wins in seven games. They have been the quickest batting side (10.10), and the third stingiest (9.01) with the ball.

Overall, Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans have clashed four times in the Indian Premier League, with the Titans winning two,the Knight Riders winning one, and one match being washed out. GT will once again enter the match against KKR as favorites at the Eden Gardens, where it is going to be hot and humid.

IPL 2025: KKR win the toss and opt to bowl

Speaking at the toss, Ajinkya Rahane said that the pitch on offer is on the dry side. He elaborated:

"We are going to bowl first. Slightly on the drier side, when we bowl, we'll get an idea how it's playing. This is generally a chasing ground. We spoke after the last game. All the players are working really hard. We've made some errors but it's all about being positive. We are at number 7 now, the motivation for each and everyone is to go up the ladder as a team.

"Really positive about all the players. Not too worried about middle-order I feel 5, 6, 7 sometimes is a tricky position to bat but when it works well it really looks well. Couple of changes. Gurbaz comes in and Moeen Ali comes in as well."

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill said that he wants his team to post a big total on the board. He said:

"I don't think there'll be any dew. If we post a nice total, it should be a good match. Our bowling, everyone has been contributing with wickets. we are looking to pick wickets and the way our bowlers have been controlling the totals has been tremendous. (On Rashid Khan) The skill-set that he brings along with his bowling and the energy that he brings on the field, any captain would love to have him."
