Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI) have officially unveiled their playing XI and impact players for the 69th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Monday, May 26.

Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS and Hardik Pandya-led MI are playing their final league stage game of the IPL 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Although this is a neutral venue, PBKS are the actual hosts for the game.

The PBKS vs. MI clash is one of the most important league games of the ongoing season, as the team winning the match will become the first to book a spot in Qualifier 1.

A few days ago, when Hardik Pandya & Co. sealed the fourth and final spot in the playoffs by beating the Delhi Capitals, it looked like they were set for a third or fourth-position finish, and a top-two finish felt like a distant dream.

However, IPL's unpredictability opened the door for them to finish in the top two. MI received help from the eliminated teams, who came out all guns blazing and defeated Gujarat Titans (GT), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Despite losing their previous game against the Delhi Capitals, the Punjab Kings are still in a good position, and a win over the dominant Mumbai Indians will secure a top-two berth for them and take them one step closer to the title dream.

However, PBKS find themselves in a challenging situation with a short turnaround from the previous match and an injury to their premier spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Punjab Kings coach Sunil Joshi revealed that Yuzvendra Chahal missed the match against the Delhi Capitals due to a "small niggle", and an ESPNcricinfo report claims that the leg-spinner has sustained a wrist injury. Skipper Shreyas also had some finger issues, but he revealed he would be fine for the remaining matches.

Talking about the head-to-head record, the Mumbai Indians have a slight 17-15 edge over the Punjab Kings, but since 2019, the scoreline stands at 5-5.

Meanwhile, MI skipper Hardik Pandya said that they were unsure of the toss decision. He said:

"Looks like a good track, let's see. It is a good toss to lose."
