There were a few rain interruptions on Saturday that disrupted Punjab Kings' training, but the weather outlook for Qualifier 2 is promising. According to AccuWeather, clear skies are expected, with no rain during the game.

The temperature at the 7 PM toss is expected to be around 36°C, dropping to 31°C as the evening progresses. Humidity will range between 48% and 56%, with conditions feeling warmer due to the moisture in the air. Strong winds are also expected during the match.

Notably, there’s no threat of rain during the game itself, with showers only predicted early Monday morning after the match concludes. Fans can look forward to an uninterrupted and high-stakes clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Punjab Kings Will Advance Directly to IPL 2025 Final Based on…

If rain completely washes out Qualifier 2, Punjab Kings will move directly to the IPL 2025 final based on their superior league performance. The Shreyas Iyer-led team topped the points table with 19 points and a better net run rate than Mumbai Indians, who finished fourth.

Punjab will look to bounce back from their recent defeat by addressing weaknesses, especially in their bowling unit. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians will take confidence from the impactful displays of Jonny Bairstow and Richard Gleeson in their Eliminator win over Gujarat Titans (GT) in Mullanpur.

Qualifier 2 of IPL 2025 does not have a reserve day. Tournament organizers have confirmed that, unlike the final, which has a backup day in case of rain or other weather disruptions, the second qualifier will not be rescheduled if affected by rain.

The IPL Playing Conditions For Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians

The BCCI and IPL Governing Council have introduced new rules to manage rain delays better. Matches will now have an extra hour added to allow more time for completion if weather causes interruptions.

"Similar to the playoffs stage, an additional one hour will be allocated to the playing conditions for the remaining matches of the league stage, starting Tuesday, 20 May," states the BCCI announcement earlier in the season.

The IPL Playing Conditions, specifically Clause 13.7.3 regarding extra time, provides detailed guidelines: "Where the start of play is delayed or play is suspended for any reason then extra time of… up to one hundred and twenty minutes for any of the play-off matches (shall be available)."
