Actually, Shubman Gill’s small social media activity has turned into a big talking point among the fans, leaving fans to wonder whether everything is well between him and Rishabh Pant.

Following Gujarat Titans’ seven-wicket win over the Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, Gill has reportedly liked a reel that mentioned Pant in a mocking way. The clip was from Pant’s early days with the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals).

It was the moment from one of Delhi’s clashes with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2018. In this viral clip, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was seen pulling off from his run-up while Pant was ready to hit the ball.
Through both laughed off the SRH seamer’s call, but the left-hander then smashed him for big sixes. Later, the Delhi wicketkeeper-batter showed tashan to Bhuvneshwar.

Old Pant-Gill incidents resurface
Soon after, fans started digging up past moments. One such moment was from an IPL match where Gill walked past Pant quickly during the handshake last year. Some felt the GT captain ignored him, while others said it was just a normal reaction after a loss and nothing serious.
Even on the England tour last year, Gill looked a bit frustrated when Pant got out while playing an attacking shot. Although such reactions are common in high-pressure matches. There was also a run-out mix-up in another game, which had created a bit of noise back then.

The captaincy angle also added fuel to this noise. After Rohit Sharma’s retirement, Gill was given the Test captaincy, while Pant became his deputy. Some felt Pant deserved the role because he had led the side in the past, but later he welcomed the BCCI’s call and hailed Gill as leader.
GT crush LSG by 7 wickets in Lucknow
Speaking about the LSG vs GT match, Gujarat Titans defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 7 wickets with 8 balls left on Sunday in Lucknow. Prasidh Krishna (4/28) starred with the ball as he helped GT to restrict LSG at 164/8, with Aiden Markram being the top scorer with 30. Jos Buttler (60) and Shubman Gill (56) built a solid 84-run stand to help GT chase down the target easily.
