The star India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has opened up on the batting legend Sunil Gavaskar's recent comments on him.
Rishabh Pant said that he was happy to force Sunil Gavaskar to replace his 'stupid' comment with 'superb' following his heroics in the first Test against England.

Rishabh Pant hits a brilliant ton
The wicketkeeper-batsman displayed a brilliant batting performance at Headingley in Leeds and further established himself as one of India's best wicketkeeper-batsmen of all time in Test cricket.
He hit a century off 146 balls, including 10 fours and 4 sixes. Pant was not much satisfied after getting to his ton, and he set his eyes on an even bigger score.
However, his innings was brought to an end by pacer Josh Tongue as he suffered a brain-fade and got LBW, finishing his innings with a score of 134 runs off 178 balls, with 12 fours and 6 sixes.
During his stay in the middle, Rishabh Pant was involved in a colossal 209-run partnership with his skipper Shubman Gill that played a key role in India posting a big score of 471 runs.
Bahut acha lagta hai ki aap apni khamiyon par work karte ho - Rishabh Pant
During an interaction on Sony Sports, Cheteshwar Pujara asked Pant how he felt after Sunil Gavaskar took a U-turn and used 'superb, superb, superb' comment for his century in Leeds, months after his 'stupid, stupid, stupid' meltdown during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
"Feeling toh wohi hai jo aapko hai. (I have the same feelings as you)," Pant told India's former No. 3 Cheteshwar Pujara, who looked thrilled while asking the wicketkeeper-batsman about Gavaskar's comment.
"Bahut acha lagta hai ki aap apni khamiyon par work karte ho and jo apke setback hote hai usko comeback mei aap change karte ho. Toh wahi wala thought process tha ki theek hai maine bhi kuch kara hoga aisa, but luckily maine usko change kar paya, hard work kar ke, focus kar ke, aur thoda discipline rakh ke cricket mei, toh vo bahut exciting tha mere liye."
"Translation - It feels really good that I have been able to work on my shortcomings. And convert your setbacks into comebacks. That was always my thought process. I felt that I wasn't up to the mark on a certain aspect but luckily I was able to change it. By working hard, focussing well and adding a layer of discipline to my game. So that's been exciting for me."

I had thought of three celebrations - Pant
During the same interaction with Pujara, Pant also spoke about his new somersault celebration that he has been doing after hitting centuries.
Rishabh Pant revealed that he had three celebrations in his mind after completing his century against the Three Lions, including Virat Kohli's famous 'let the bat do the talking' gesture, but he eventually decided to stick with his trademark celebration. He said:
"I had thought of three celebrations to do after completing my century. One of them was the 'let the bat do the talking' one, another one was something else, and the third one was my own, the jumping one. But in the end, I decided to go with my own one".
