Rishabh Pant issues official medical bulletin ahead of Manchester Test

Team India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has shared an update on his fitness ahead of the fourth Test of the five-match series, set to commence on July 23 at Old Trafford in Manchester. On Sunday, the India vice-captain shared a 31-second video of himself, sparking optimism about his availability for the Test.
Rishabh Pant suffered a finger injury during India’s 22-run loss to England in the third Test at Lord’s Cricket Ground. The injury prevented him from taking the gloves, with Dhruv Jurel stepping in as the substitute wicketkeeper. However, the left-handed batter contributed with the bat in both innings of the match.

Rishabh Pant injured the index finger of his left hand while keeping during England’s first innings in the Lord’s Test, forcing him to leave the field. Dhruv Jurel replaced him behind the stumps.
Pant scored a crucial 74 runs off 112 balls in the first innings, including eight fours and two sixes. However, the left-handed batter managed just nine runs in the second innings while chasing a target of 193 runs.
The vice-captain has been in outstanding form throughout the series, amassing 425 runs from six innings at an average of 70.83, with two centuries and two fifties. He is India’s second-highest run-scorer after captain Shubman Gill.

Rishabh Pant shared a video on social media, offering a positive update on his recovery from the finger injury he suffered during the third Test against England.
In the clip, Pant can be seen batting in the nets, taking part in fielding drills, and playing football, indicating that he is nearing full fitness. The video was captioned, “If calm had a sound, it would be this,” hinting at his readiness for the upcoming match.

With India trailing 1-2 in the five-match series, they need a win in Manchester to stay alive. Pant’s presence and performance will be vital for the team’s chances.
Don’t Think the Injury Will Keep Rishabh Out - Ryan ten Doeschate
Team India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate opened up about the uncertainty around Pant’s availability for the Manchester Test. He revealed that Pant is expected to bat before the Test and stated that the injury is unlikely to rule him out.
"He will bat in Manchester before the Test. Look, I don't think the injury is going to keep Rishabh out of the Test, no matter what," Doeschate told reporters on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Anshul Kamboj is in line for a debut in the Manchester Test against the England National Cricket Team as the star pacers Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep are down with injury.
