Former Indian player Aakash Chopra criticised Rishabh Pant's performance in the ongoing IPL season. Lucknow Super Giants bought Pant for a whopping INR 27 crore at the mega auction.
Pant became the most expensive player in the history of IPL, but Pant failed to impress Lucknow fans as he just scored 128 runs in 11 matches.

Aakash Chopra criticises Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant’s poor form has been targeted by former players, and Aakash Chopra heavily criticised Pant for his animated gestures during the match between Lucknow and Punjab Kings.
According to Chopra, Pant was looking extremely frustrated and disturbed on the field during Lucknow’s last game before the IPL suspension.
"It’s also true that he was extremely animated as a captain in the last match before the IPL suspension. It seemed like he was extremely disturbed and frustrated. That’s not the captain you want, one who looks frustrated on the ground. You and I will never get to know what’s going on behind the scenes," Chopra said on his YouTube channel.
Chopra also added that Pant’s anger was seen on his face, and that was not a great thing for any franchise.
"One shouldn’t come to know from the captain’s face that he is angry, but the anger was visible, which is not a great thing," he added.
Rishabh Pant’s poor form
Rishabh Pant didn’t play a single innings that fans can enjoy in this ongoing IPL season. He scored only 128 runs in 11 matches with a strike rate of just 99.2.
The left-hand batter scored only one half-century, and that too came in the losing cause. Pant’s strike rate is the lowest among all batters who scored 100 runs or above in this edition of IPL.
Pant has been seen many times discussing things with Lucknow’s co-owner, Sanjiv Goenka, after the end of matches. Their chats always look interesting, but no one knows what their chats have been about.
Chopra’s focus will again be on Pant, and after the resumption, it will be most important for Lucknow to win all their matches to remain in contention for the playoffs.
Lucknow Super Giants’ position in the points table
Currently, Lucknow is placed in the seventh position with 10 points in 11 matches. They have three matches remaining, but winning all their games will not guarantee a place in the playoffs.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans, and Punjab Kings have already qualified for the playoffs. There is one spot left, and Lucknow will battle out with Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals for the last spot.
Pant will look to perform in all the remaining games and try to finish the tournament on a solid note.
