In his recent exclusive interview with Adidas, Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant mentioned that the three big moments of his career were the Gabba Test win for India, the 2024 T20 World Champions, and the ICC Champions Trophy win in 2025.
Indian superstar batter Rishabh Pant is often regarded as a global figure in the sport and is known for his great character on the field. He was recently praised for his immense determination to play for the country, as he batted with a bruised finger at Lord's and then followed it with a fractured foot at Old Trafford.
His esteem has been evolving in the sport, as he was also the highest bid of IPL 2025, when Lucknow Super Giants took him in for a whopping INR 27 crores. This remains the highest ever bid for any cricketer across any cricket league.
Rishabh Pant reminisces about Gabba Glory as the Most Iconic Moment in his career
Recently, Pant was featured in an exclusive chat with Adidas, where the wicket-keeper was asked to name the three biggest cricketing moments that have shaped his career as a cricketer.
Pant replied, "For me, every time I take the field, it's a cricketing moment. But I think a few highlights of my life would be, one, the Test match at Gabba, T20 Champions and then the ICC trophy."
India or any Asian team had never won at the iconic Gabba against Australia until the Border-Gavaskar Trophy of 2021, when India made the impossible happen. They also played the game without their most veteran player, Virat Kohli, and Ajinkya Rahane captained India.
Rishabh Pant has always been hailed for his performance in that entire series; however, his match-winning 89* at the Gabba in the fourth Test elevated him to a new high in Indian Test cricket, and the innings remains as one of the most memorable innings of his career.
T20 World Champions and ICC Title win are among the two life-changing moments in Pant's career
The other two iconic moments credited by Pant include India's glorious campaign in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Rishabh was not a part of the Indian team that played in the WTC final of 2023 and the World Cup final of 2023, due to injuries.
Pant made his comeback into ICC trophies with the T20 World Cup, and India has been unstoppable in ICC events since then, as they have won consecutive titles under veteran skipper Rohit Sharma.
Crowned as the T20 Champions on the very next tournament post his return would have obviously added immensely to Rishabh Pant's confidence; however, the Champions Trophy playing XI did not feature Pant, despite which he might have learned a lot fighting for a spot after being named in the squad to the UAE.
Rishabh is likely to take the field ahead of the West Indies Test series
Rishabh Pant easily dominated English conditions on another occasion, as he amassed 479 runs across 7 innings, averaging 68.43, and scored 3 half-centuries alongside twin centuries at Headingley in the first Test.
He missed the final Test match at the Oval after being ruled out due to a right foot fracture, following which he has been under rehabilitation.
Reportedly, his plaster has been removed, and Rishabh Pant, despite being snubbed from the Asia Cup squad, would undertake fitness drills at the BCCI CoE to be available for selection before the home Test series against the West Indies.
The West Indies Tests start on the 2nd of October, just after the Asia Cup ends, and Pant would also be a key player for the Indian side in the Australian white-ball tour, though his place in the Indian ODI XI still remains under scrutiny.
