Wickets galore in Hyderabad
On their home ground, Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a rare batting collapse. Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Liam Livingston— all of these batters are well known for smashing the ball hard. On the afternoon of Sunday, cricket fans in the gallery and in their comfort were expected to see some swashbuckling batting from these stars of Sunrisers.
Instead, he witnessed a collapsing batting order like a house of cards. Barely any sensible defence or bat movement and the team had to pay for it. LSG bowlers deserve the credit for forcing the star batters to make mistakes.
A better to forget moment for the Sunrisers Hyderabad
According to overall stats, SRH has just set a record to forget in 10 overs, they secured only 35 runs for 4 wickets, which is the fourth-lowest total scored by any team in the tournament ever.
Lowest team scores in the first 10 overs in the history of the league:
Kolkata Knight Riders vs Deccan Chargers (2009): 31/3
Rajasthan Royals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (2009): 32/5
Mumbai Indians vs Punjab Kings (2015): 32/4
Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Super Giants (today): 35/4
Mohammed Shami set the tone for the LSG bowlers
Early in the innings, when the white ball was shining under the sunlight, Mohammed Shami delivered a stunner to dismiss Abhishek Sharma. The attacking opener had to go without scoring a single run. Shami looks in good rhythm in his season with the Lucknow Super Giants. In the previous match, the experienced pacer dismissed Delhi Capitals opener KL Rahul for duck as well, now it is Abhishek Sharma who lost his wicket for a duck against the Bengal pacer.
The ambitious Lucknow Super Giants are trying do their best to secure a good total. On an individual basis, Rishabh Pant also has the urgency to do something significant for the team in this year's Indian Premier League.
