Team India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is keen to return to action after suffering a foot fracture during the fourth Test of the recent five-match series against England this July. The Test vice-captain shared a photo of his bandaged right foot on Instagram, and his update quickly went viral among fans.
Pant fractured his right toe while attempting a reverse sweep off Chris Woakes. The ball hit his foot, forcing him to retire hurt on 37 on Day 1 and be taken off the field in a golf cart. Pant showed remarkable determination by returning to bat on Day 2.
The left-handed batter scored a half-century of 54 runs off 75 balls, including three fours and two sixes. The fracture ruled him out of the remainder of the series, and he is expected to follow a six-week recovery plan.
