Rishabh Pant surpasses Virat Kohli in ICC Test Rankings, but still behind one India batter

Team India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has overtaken his teammate Virat Kohli in the latest ICC Test rankings for batters. Rishabh Pant moved up on the latest rankings following his impressive batting performances in the first Test match against New Zealand, where India suffered a shocking defeat.

The left-handed batter has had successful outings with the bat since his comeback in red-ball cricket. Pant scored a century in his comeback match against Bangladesh in Chennai. The southpaw then continued his batting form in the ongoing three-match Test series against New Zealand on home soil.

Rishabh Pant Overtakes Virat Kohli in Test Batter Rankings

Rishabh Pant was the top scorer in India's first innings, where the Men in Blue were bowled out for just 46 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The batter missed a well-deserved hundred in the second match by just one run. He scored 99 runs before being dismissed by William O'Rourke.

Pant has moved up three places to secure the sixth spot in the latest ICC Test batter rankings, surpassing his teammate Virat Kohli. England batter Joe Root remains at the top of the rankings. Yashasvi Jaiswal (fourth), Pant (sixth), and Kohli (tied for eighth) are the only Indian players currently in the top 10.

Matt Henry Reaches His Career Best Rankings in Test Bowler Rankings

New Zealand players Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway have climbed the Test batter rankings. Ravindra moved up 36 places to 18th, and Conway jumped 12 spots to 36th. Meanwhile, Matt Henry has climbed two positions to reach ninth, which is his new career-high rating in the Test bowler rankings.

Matt Henry took eight wickets in New Zealand's impressive eight-wicket win against India in Bengaluru. Will O'Rourke moved up two spots to 39th after claiming seven wickets in the same match.

Ben Duckett Nears Top 10 in Test Batter Rankings

Ben Duckett is close to breaking into the top 10 of the Test batter rankings after his 114-run knock against Pakistan. Agha Salman has climbed eight spots to 14th place in the rankings. He Salman is the highest-rated Test batter from Pakistan ahead of Babar Azam (19th), and Mohammad Rizwan (21st).

Pakistan spinner Noman Ali has moved back up to 17th in the Test bowler rankings after taking 11 wickets in a Test match against England. His teammate Sajid Khan has jumped 22 spots to reach 50th place. Sajid took nine wickets in two innings of the second Test and earned the Player of the Match award.

In the latest T20I batter rankings, Sri Lankan player Pathum Nissanka has improved four spots to jump to eighth, and Kusal Mendis has reached 12th. Maheesh Theekshana has climbed two positions to third among T20I bowlers. Wanindu Hasaranga is sixth in both the T20I bowler and all-rounder rankings.
