Ashish Nehra said that Rishabh Pant will be disappointed with his T20I figures. His words arrive after the left-handed batsman came out with a dismal batting show in the recent IND vs SA T20I series.

Rishabh Pant led the team in the T20I series against South Africa. Although he managed to square off the series in a 2-2 tie, he failed to come up with even one good knock in the series. In the 4 innings, Pant scored 58 runs with the highest knock of 29 runs in one match.

Rishabh Pant Will Be Disappointed With His T20I Numbers: Ashish Nehra

While speaking to Cricbuzz, former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra said Pant will be himself disappointed by his T20I performances.

“It is not like Rishabh Pant targets only left-arm spinners. If he feels he can take on off-spinners like Moeen Ali or Liam Livingstone, he will do that as well. It is just the way he plays, be it T20s or Tests. But yes, he himself will be disappointed with his T20I numbers. It is not like we are talking about 10 to 15 innings. He has also batted at No.3, 4 and 5,” Ashish Nehra said.

Rishabh Pant, who is the primary wicketkeeper for the Indian team currently, has played 48 T20Is so far. He has scored 741 runs at an average of 23.16 and a strike rate of 124+. He has only hit 3 fifties in the shortest format. Compared to Tests and ODIs, the wicketkeeper has an average of 40.85 in the longest format and 32.50 in 50-over cricket.
