Former India captain and 1983 World Cup winner Kris Srikkanth took to his YouTube channel and doled out severe tongue lashings to Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag for his poor show with the bat in IPL 2026.
While the Royals are sitting third on the points table after winning each of their first four matches but losing the next two, Parag's own form with the bat has left much to be desired. He has made just 61 runs in 6 matches at a strike rate of 122 and has not been able to make a significant impact with the bat.
'In race to be worst batter' - Kris Srikkanth on Parag and Rahane
Ajinkya Rahane has so far made 152 runs in 7 matches at a strike rate of almost 145, but the team he is leading - Kolkata Knight Riders - are dead last on the points table with only 1 win in seven matches.
As Srikkanth was dishing out his criticism of Riyan Parag, Rahane too got drawn into the debate.
"Parag, as usual, is fit only for his stylish walks after doing nothing with bat and ball. There is a competition between him and Rahane as to who's the worst batter. Parag did well one season, and that's it," Srikkanth said.

'They will only fight for 9th vs 10th' - Kris Srikkanth on KKR and LSG
While the Rahane-led KKR are dead last on the points table, the Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants are currently in ninth place with just two wins in six matches and a three-match losing streak.
Kris Srikkanth said that he doesn't believe either team could climb up the points table and these two teams will be locked in a battle to avoid 10th place. On the other hand, he backed seventh-placed Mumbai Indians to stage a comeback and even qualify for the playoffs.
"MI have the ability to do well in big matches, which can suddenly vault them to the playoffs. After this match, there is no way anyone can write MI off. KKR and LSG, of course, are already knocked out. They'll only fight for 9th vs 10th." He added.
'He's a Test match player playing T20' - Kris Srikkanth on DC batter
Kris Srikkanth also weighed in on Tuesday's clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals and picked the former to be the favourites.
He opined that DC's current No. 3, Karun Nair, was not an adequate batter for the T20 format and that would give SRH the edge in this contest.
"SRH will be favourites. DC have a No.3 problem. They are playing Karun Nair there. He's a Test match player playing T20." He concluded
Upcoming fixtures of all teams
Rajasthan Royals' next fixture will be against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow on April 22. Kolkata Knight Riders will also be facing LSG in Lucknow for their next fixture, but on April 26.
The Mumbai Indians will be facing the Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on April 23 in their next match.
