Rohit Sharma's childhood coach, Dinesh Lad, is confident of India winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand. Dinesh Lad stated that the Indian cricket team reached the final of the ongoing ICC tournament with collective effort from players rather than individual performances.

The Men in Blue currenly taking on New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final on Sunday, March 9, in Dubai. Both teams will be aiming to secure the prestigious title. India are hoping for their third Champions Trophy win, while New Zealand are looking to add a second trophy to their cabinet.

Our Team Is Going to Win the Match - Dinesh Lad

Dinesh Lad predicted that Rohit Sharma will lift the title in ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He added that the team has reached the final with an all-round performance and stated that teamwork will be the key to winning the summit clash.

“Our team is going to win the match. The team has come this far in the final to clinch the trophy. Every player is stepping up, and it’s not about one individual — it’s about the power of the team. This is a team game, and the good teamwork is working well," Dinesh Lad told IANS.

“From our batters to bowlers and fielding unit, everyone is giving their best. It’s a collective effort, and together, we’ll lift the trophy! It won’t be just one player who wins; it’s a collective effort, and together, we’ll lift the trophy," he said.

Rohit Sharma Has Struggled to Make Big Scores in Champions Trophy

Rohit Sharma has been leading India in the Champions Trophy 2025. The Indian skipper guided the team to the final unbeaten. However, he has yet to make a significant impact with the bat.

The 37-year-old has focused on providing aggressive starts in the powerplay but has struggled to convert them into big scores. He has scored 104 runs in four matches at an average of 26.00 and a strike rate of 107.21, with a highest score of 41 against Bangladesh.

Rohit is under pressure to deliver a strong performance at the top and play a crucial innings in the summit clash.

We’re All Set to Win Again - Dinesh Lad

Dinesh Lad said Rohit Sharma has guided the team to victory before and is set to do it again. Lad also lauded Virat Kohli for his performances. Kohli is India’s highest run-scorer in the tournament, amassing 217 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 83.14.

“Rohit Sharma has led us to victory before, and now, under his leadership, we’re all set to win again," Lad said.

“Kohli has been in outstanding form, his two innings were really outstanding," he added.

Rohit became the first captain to reach the final of every ICC tournament across formats. India finished as runners-up in both the 2023 World Test Championship final and the 2023 ODI World Cup final. However, Team India also secured victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the US.
